It's time to kick off our Horse Judging project! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, October 27th at 6:30pm at the Penn's house. We will be reviewing parts of the horse and discussing conformation classes. This will be a great meeting for anyone new this year who is interested in the project and will be a good refresher for returning members from last year. We will also discuss plans to attend the Horse Judging Workshop that will be held at Texas A & M on Saturday, November 7th. The next Horse Judging meeting will be on Monday, January 5 at 6:30pm at the Penn's house, 950 CR 2303. We will be getting ready for our upcoming judging contest on the 24th of January. Please remember to bring your Horse Judging manuals as we will be going over the performance classes. Have a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Due to a conflict with the Christmas Parade, the next Horse Judging meeting has been moved from Tuesday, Dec. 2 to Tuesday, Dec. 9. We will be participating in the Christmas Parade and meeting at the County Office at 4:30 to ride on the 4-H float.
On Tuesday, Dec. 9th at 6:30 we will meet at the Penn's house to discuss muscling and put all of what we have learn so far together. Please remember to bring your model horses (a maximum of 4 per person) with you so that we can 'judge' them.
The Penn's address is 950 CR 2303 (aka Tom Penn Lane). Please call Mike or Nikki for directions 903-393-1680. If you are new to the group, please give us a call and we can fill you in on what we the others have learned so far to get you caught up.

The Horse Judging and Livestock Judging projects are being held together. On Tuesday, November 11, we had our 3rd meeting at 6:30pm at the County Extension office. We reviewed breeding stock in cattle, swine and sheep. If you are interested in joining either or both groups, it is not too late to sign up. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 at the County Extension office in Rusk. We will be reviewing what we have learned so far with Horse Judging and going over muscling and travel. We will be evaluating model horses, so don't forget to bring yours (remember, no more than 4 model horses per 4-Her please).
If you are interested and have not been to one of our first meetings, please contact Mike or Nikki Penn at 903-393-1680. We would be glad to fill you in on what we have learned so far and provide you with all the project materials.
As a reminder, our Footbridge general meeting will be next Thursday, November 20 at 6:30 at the County office.

Anyone interested in Horse Judging OR Livestock Judging there will be an informational meeting on Thursday, October 30 at 6:30pm at the County Office. During this meeting we will discuss members interest and pass out project information. If time permits, and depending on the different interests, we will cover some of the basics of each project.
Some of the events that we will participate in will be out of county judging events and field trips to different farms where we can do comparison judging. We welcome anyone that is interested or has ideas/places for us to view animals.
After Oct 30, our next TENTATIVE meeting will be on Saturday, Nov. 8, time tba. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Mike or Nikki at email@example.com.
